Computer won't boot, but hard drive works when docked to laptop

    have you tried what we have suggested so far?

    I personally don't have any experience with geek squad.
    You can follow this tutorial to narrow down the possible issues.

    The problem's fixed. My computer's working now. I reseated the RAM, reseated some of the cables, and reconnected the hard drive. Something I did solved the problem, but I'm not sure what. When it was working again, I ran startup repair, which said it couldn't detect a problem. Then I ran Windows diagnostic memory tool, which also said there's no problem.
