zYx,

Double check to make sure you have your Start Menu Customize search settings are set to this below for the "Search" options.

When I type in appdata in the Start Menu search box, I get this.

Ok, i've changed the search setting to Search with public folders as it was without public folders.

Now I get the same thing as you, but when I press enter I get Search Results...
What about you?

edit:

I was wrong. I got the same thing because I had a shortcut to Appdata on my desktop and that was it in search results. Now I've deleted the shortcut and when I type appdata in start search, nothing comes up :/

How about this?

AppData seems to be excluded from indexing and I don't know how to "include" it..

Changing your Search settings in Folder Options like below may allow it to show up in the Start Menu without it being in the Index. If not, then you will need to add it back to the Index and rebuild the Index.

Ok I set everything according to your screen and rebuilding the index now. Will take some time..

..but if AppData is excluded from index, it wont work anyway..

could you post the screen from your index settings please?

Yes, you would need to add that location back to the index. AppData is a hidden system folder, so you may need to unhide it before you see it as well.

It doesn't really matter, but you can close the window above and click on Modify again to see. It shouldn't be grayed out afterwards.

Sorry to be a pain, but I can't remember having it not grayed out and I only had 7 since tuesday.

Although, I added AppData and few more folders to be indexed. Will see what happens..

zYx,

If you close the Indexed Locatoins window, click on Modify in the "Indexing Options" window again, is it still grayed out?

Yes it is, that;s why I am a little bit confused
Now, since I added hidden appdata to index, when I type appdata in Start Search lots of results comes up..
