I would not worry about it. It just means that it is running elevated (run as administrator). The main thing is that you got your search back. :)

Are you using the built-in Administrator account, or have UAC turned off?

UAC is off and I am administrator.

Now, since I added Windows and hidden AppData locations to index, when I type appdata in Start search this comes up now and no appdata at all, until I press enter, then AppData folder is the first search result.

What these have to do with "appdata"?

    Thats better.

I don't really understand this Start Search

Something went screwy somewhere. Doing a repair install should reset and fix this for you without losing anything. This way you do not have to spend forever trying to hunt down a unknown cause of this.

Right. I think I'm getting there.
I went to C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Search\Data\ and deleted it all (under safe mode) and I ran build index again and it worked (I think), but because See more results is highlighted straight after I typed appdata when I press enter it takes me to new window with search results, then I am only two clicks from the actual AppData. I didn't actually noticed that earlier.

If appdata was highlighted by default I would only need to press enter and I'm there!

Is there any way to change that?

Actually you should be able to just press enter now for it to open the folder since it's the onle item found.

I should, but it goes to See more results after split second when appdata was highlighted.

    edit:
    maybe because it appears hidden?

Only if you type in shell:appdata instead.

If it's not a exact file name or folder path typed in the Start Menu search box, then it gives you the "See more results" option highlighter first instead.

The topmatch behavior is configurable by registry (has been since Vista).
    Create a DWORD HCKU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\StartPage!StartPanel_TopMatch

Here are what the values do:
0 = Default (Program if there is one otherwise "See more results")
1 = Search Internet (Program if there is one otherwise "Search the internet") Note, you have to enable "Search the internet" from gpedit.msc is Win7 since it is now turned off by default.
2 = Always Internet (Always select "Search the internet" no matter what results there are)
3 = Always Computer (Always select "See more results" no matter what results there are)
4 = File if there are any results otherwise "Search the internet" if there are no results

I prefer setting it to 1 so I can quickly launch an internet search from the Start Menu.
