Now, when I right clicked on a file, system hangs and explorer.exe restarted.

Try the following, then see if you still get the hang:
1. Click Start
2. In the search box, type cmd
3. In the list that appears, right-click on cmd.exe and choose Run as administrator
4. In the command window that opens, type sfc /scannow and hit enter.
Report the output from the command window once it finishes.

HTH
That particular Event ID indicates a generic hang error with the application (in this case it is explorer.exe), have you installed all the latest Windows Updates?
What anti-virus program are you using?
im using AVG free edition... as I'm a limited bandwidth user... I'm not installing win updates
Perhaps you don't like using links in forums and that's why I haven't seen anything regarding my suggestion. So, see if anything in the following list provides a solution;
I would suggest you follow these methods and check.
Method 1:
Update Graphics drivers.
Follow these steps to update graphics drivers.
a. Press Windows key + X and selectDevice Manager.
b. Search for Display Adapters and expand it.
c. Right click on the Display Adapter and selectUpdate driver software.
Method 2:
Run sfc/scan.
The sfc /scannow command scans all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with correct Microsoft versions. When the scan is complete, the System File Checker tool indicates whether integrity violations were found. If integrity violations are found, the System File Checker tool lets you fix the integrity violations.
Follow these steps to run sfc/scan.
a. Press the Windows + X keys and click/tap onCommand Prompt (Admin).
b. In the elevated command prompt, typesfc /scannow and press Enter.
NOTE: This may take a while to finish running.
Method 3:
I would suggest you to run anti-virus scan on the computer and check.
I would also suggest you to scan your computer with Microsoft Safety Scanner, which would help us to get rid of viruses, spyware, and other malicious software.
The Microsoft Safety Scanner is a free downloadable security tool that provides on-demand scanning and helps remove viruses, spyware, and other malicious software. It works with your existing antivirus software.
http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx
Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner expires 10 days after being downloaded. To rerun a scan with the latest anti-malware definitions, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.
Important: While scanning the hard drive if any bad sectors are found, the scanner tries to repair that sector, any data available on that might be lost
Method 4:
Step 1:
I would suggest you to boot your computer in safe mode and check. Here is the link which says how to do it.
Windows Startup Settings (including safe mode)
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-8/windows-startup-settings-including-safe-mode
Step 2:
If the system works fine in safe mode, then I would suggest you to perform clean boot to check for the application that is causing the problem.
Clean boot: To help troubleshoot error messages and other issues, you can start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This kind of startup is known as a "clean boot." A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts. Here is the link for your reference to perform clean boot.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135
Note: Please go through step 3 of the Kb to keep the computer in normal startup after fixing the issue
Hope it works. For any Windows related queries feel free to join us.

I would strongly suggest installing Windows Updates, they will provide many important security and stability updates. AVG is a very problematic and poor program, I would strongly suggest removing the program with the AVG Removal Tool, and then using this security combination:
Install and perform full scans with:
- Malwarebytes : Free anti-malware download
- Microsoft Security Essentials | Protect against viruses, spyware, and other malware
InformationRemember to install the free version of Malwarebytes not the free trail; untick the free trial box during installation. MSE is the most lightweight and compatible with the Windows 7 operating system
