I am unable to run most of the .exe files I download.

Most .exe files I download don't work, including Windows FixIt. Very few of them actually do work, and the ones that do are primarily all games. Not sure what else to say, any help is appreciated.

Installed memory: 6.00 GB (5.89 GB usable)

a while ago, someone just had a problem with their downloads folder, what is the error you receive when you try to open an application, can you move it to another folder and run it?

When I start any .exe file I've downloaded off the internet it just says "*** Has Stopped Working" Also, I am unable to troubleshoot, and moving them to different folders doesn't work.

The only programs I can run are games that I have downloaded from Steam, basically every program I can't run are the ones I've downloaded online.

hmm, open up msconfig by typing "msconfig" in the start menu and clicking enter. select the startup tab and post a screenshot of your startup items, using the snipping tool

Try right clicking on the exe and select Run as Administrator.
What programs are you downloading that the exe isn't working?

Running them as administrator doesn't work.

The few programs I've tried are
    Microsoft Fix It
    Fallout Mod Manager
Nexus Mod Manager (I know both of these are legit)
    And troubleshooting doesn't work.
