    Burning DVD question ...

What is the difference between formatting a dvd then copying files to it, and burning files to it?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello McSeven,

Choose the Live File System format when you want to burn a data disc that will play in a computer running Windows XP or later.

Choose the Mastered format when you need a disc that will play on any computer or in some different consumer electronic devices, such as CD, DVD, and Blu‑ray Disc players, that can play digital music files, pictures, or video files.

This can help give some more information about the above. Please let us know if you have any questions after reading through it.

Burn a CD or DVD in Windows Explorer

Burning say an ISO file to a blank unformatted DVD is to create a bootable DVD of what the ISO is for. For example, burn a Windows 7 ISO file to a DVD to create a bootable Windows 7 installation DVD.

    Hope this helps, :)
