    Restrictions -

This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator.

This has been troubling me over the past week or so and while I have managed to work around most of the errors, I'm still getting this message from Programs that open my browser. An example being, i open Planetside 2 from steam and click on a link to their website from the launcher, i get that message.

At first, if i tried to open any other browser besides IE then i would get this message. I couldn't use Chrome, Safari or Firefox.

I fixed the problem with Chrome by searching the program folders to the actual Chrome_Launcher and using that as a shortcut on my desktop instead. I had to delete Firefox & Safari because there wasn't that option.

Anyone any idea on how to fix this? I'm using Windows 7, 64 bit.

That sounds very similar to the message my kids get when they try and do something i havent allowed them to from their limited user accounts via MS family safety

Is this your machine with full access rights ?

Yeah it's mine, I bought it 2 years ago and never had a problem with it until now. I've tried everything i can think of, System restore, restoring the registry key, running regedit and changing to "htmlfile", virus scans etc.

I don't use outlook at all if that helps? I've read the top link before and nothing helped there. I've ran fixit a few times before also and nothing happens. Tried re-installing the browsers and setting IE to default before trying and nothing.
