    Black Screen after login


    So previously i had another start up problem Start Up Problems so i decided to use the repair my system option after pressing F8 before windows booted up i tried to start up repair but it gave me an error saying if i have an mp3 device, etc inserted, eject it and restart and try again. Then i tried system restore but it also gave me an error (0x8000ffff). then i decided to check for hardware memory, it detected and fixed nothing but after i restarted and logged on i was left with a black screen with no desktop, i am able to open task manager to open other programs but i think i can only open browsers. it took around 5 minutes or more for my desktop to load up and my taskbar to appear. Please help me i am willing to try all suggestions. Also i have noticed that my computer time went ahead i had to adjust it using internet time. After eevrything loaded my computer works fine and is quite fast.

    sorry.. can you maybe reword your comments.

    does you computer work or not? how are you able to use task manager when you have a black screen and no desktop?

    your comments dont really make any sense.

    Have you tried booting into safe mode? If so , what results. You could try running sfc/scannow from safe mode if possible. ascomputers is correct, we could use a little more info here.

    Just to look at this in isolation. This would indicate that your CMOS battery needs replacing!
