    Windows Explorer APPCRASH

    Hello all-

    About every 5-minutes I get the following message:

    Windows Explorer has stopped working

    Problem Details:

    I have been reading throughout the forums and cannot find any answers. I have tried the following to no avail:
    - CMD (as admin): sfc /scannow
    - Safe Mode boot
    - Clean Start (or whatever it's called)
    - Using some 3rd party prog to update/replace werconcpl.dll <-- FYI, I did this last after all other failed attempts. Error message is basically the same regardless of solution attempted.

    To my knowledge, nothing has seriously changed on the computer. Perhaps we ran Windows Update... but no new programs and we don't play games on this PC.

    I'm not above the idea of reformatting / reinstalling W7 from a backup... but I'd like to figure out this solution so that I'm not in an endless loop of reinstalling after this problem shows up again.

    Please help,
    Thanks,
    Erik

    Hi,
    Please try the following methods in order they appear to correct the User32.dll error:
    Method 1:Use windows update to obtain any fixes that are related to User32.dll
    Click Start, click All Programs, and then click Windows Update.
    In the navigation pane, click Change settings.
    Select the option that you want.
    Under Recommended updates, click to select the Include recommended updates when downloading, installing, or notifying me about updates check box, and then click OK. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type the password, or provide confirmation.
    ===========================
    Method2: Reinstall programs, hardware and drivers that are causing User32.dll errors
    Click Start, and then click Run.
    Copy and paste (or type) the following command in the Run box, and press ENTER:
    devmgmt.msc
    If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type the password, or provide confirmation.
    In Device Manager, locate the device that you want to update, and then double-click the device name.
    Click the Driver tab, click Update Driver, and then follow the instructions.
    ============================
    Method 3: Use System Restore
