    College Edition Question.

Hey guys, has anyone installed the college version of Windows 7 Pro? I have XP Pro right now and I want to know how it would work since its a upgrade..

    How do you clean install?

Install XP then run the Windows 7 exe?

I saw posts where people made the windows 7 files an iso. When you boot up the computer does it give you the choice to reformat?

Basically I want to wipe my computer clean, and install windows 7.

    Thank You.

You can boot from the Windows 7 install disc. Even though you can "upgrade" from Windows XP...there is no way to preserve any installed applications or data. You will end up with a clean install. So, be sure that you backup whatever you need first.

I did a clean install on a separate partition of the college download edition last night and it was no problem.

I just unpacked it on the desktop in Windows XP, and ran the exe. It gave me the choice of upgrade or custom install. I chose custom install and since I wanted to dual boot, I selected to install on the partition I had already prepared. It started the setup of copying files to the drive before it even restarted out of XP. Then it rebooted and continued the install process like usual.
