How can I change sort order for "Search Programs and files" results?

This started a few weeks ago, don't know how or why. If i go to Start (globe on lower left), and in "Search programs and files", e.g. type "car", it gives me the info essentially in triplicate - it lists: "Control Panel (21)"; "Documents (1786)", which lists 5 files; "Pictures (1786)"...

Hello! This is a major issue to me. I open the start menu, and I want to search something up. Nothing comes up. When I press "See more results", it gives me a error message. What do I do to solve this?

Windows 7's "Search Programs and Files" is not functioning properly, it searches some folders, but ignores some others (which are newer), and when I choose "search again in: computer" it finds the ignored folders. any comments would be highly appreciated
