please help, can't get to start screen no matter what I try!

    Hi,
Just can't get my pc to load up!
It all seems to be becase of a windows update. It updated thursday night as I switched it off an then on friday when I turned it on it said there is a problem and that system repair would do a scan. It did a scan and found nothing. I went into advanced and using the recovery tools tried several restores but none of them worked! It kept saying they couldn't do it and my files are left as they were.
I cannot get into any safemode, pc just starts over!
Now, I have physically removed the hard drive and put it in a case with usb and have connected it to another pc to save all my files. I was wondering if there's anything I can physically remove from the hard drive that might get my windows to start? Other than that it's looking like a new installation!
    Any help is gratefully appreciated!
    Thanks

Thanks, will try it as soon as I've reconnected the hard drive!
Will there be a back up copy on my hard drive or do I need to make a disk?

Everything that can be done is included in these steps for Troubleshooting Windows 7 Failure to Start
leading up to if necessary running factory Recovery or getting the superior Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 which steps are same for retail.

Since you're pretty sure it's Updates-related, the best fix for that is to System Restore from the Win7 disk System Recovery Options.

If it won't restore from disk either then try a few Startup Repairs after confirming System Reserved or C is Partition Marked Active

    Google this:
    Windows 7 ISO downloads
Seven Forums can get in trouble for posting direct links.
The first one or two links are what you need. Make sure you download English 64 bit **Insert Version Here** Windows 7 as your key will only work with the version you had on your machine, home premium, pro etc.

Everything you need to get a perfect Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 is in the blue link.

If you'd prefer first working through the steps for Troubleshooting Windows 7 Failure to Start the disk is also provided there, too, in Step 6.
