yes its in normal mode but it has a yellow triangle next to network adapter.....Atheros AR9285 wireless adapter..I tried to update it but it says Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device (Code 31)

Also yes just looked and found the advSRS4 it says 'status' ready and 'triggers' at log on of any user
Simply disable the task to prevent the popup each time you logon.

    wlan driver issue:
    1. in device manager: right click on it and "uninstall". put check mark "remove form system as weel" or something like that.
    2. reboot
Open device manager again. it came back, or is it listed in "other devices" now?

yes I downloaded the zip file from your link.... put in onto usb stick.... transfered it to the laptop.... placed it on desktop and double clicked it like you said...but nothing seems to have changed.... still got yellow triangle....still says windows cannot load!

Oh do I need to uninstall it first!

Also the advSRS4 says its disabled in the history section...so does this mean I should just leave it as it now is or should I rename the file I changed and then do the disable via the taskscheduler!

Why not connect it wired (at least temporary)? Then you can download. And use windows updates. Maybe windows updates find all needed stuff automatically.

Why transfer it using USB stick?

btw: No more problems in device manager? No "other devices"?

So your connected WIRED now and it works. You installed all windows updates. open "device manager" and right click on the wireless driver with problems. uninstall the driver. Select "also delete from disk" or something like that.
    Reboot.
    post screenshot of device manager.

You never answered if NP-R519-FA01US is your correct model number. Are you using the driver at the very bottom of the list when you click See All Downloads here? http://www.samsung.com/us/support/owners/product/

Go to this page and have it autodetect your model then try installing the Wireless LAN driver for that model in the correct 32- or 64-bit version: Support | Samsung Product Support & Service Solutions

Oh Greglocker....I know its a R519 thats all and it has a Atheros AR9285 adapter version 9.2.0.470
