I have found that my scrolling has stopped working since complete install...when I click on the mouse icon in control panel this is what pops up.

I have tried enabling scroll but it does not seem to tick...it just flashes when I tick the box but does not apply it.....I don't want to uninstall as it suggests in the screen capture as I wont be able to use laptop then! Any ideas at solving this would be fabulous

You did not do a Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7.

You did Samsung Recovery which just reinstalls all of the bloatware and useless duplicate utilities which interfere with better versions built into WIn7.

This is the worst possible install of WIn7 one can have, the opposite of a Clean Reinstall. You will never even experience perfect Win7 native performance with this install.

Obviously you also need to reinstall the Synaptics pointing device driver. So follow the prompt to do that, then reboot and it should reinstall.

[quote[didn't solve the problem so in end took everything off that's personal to me via safe mode and did a complete install again via the Samsungs recovery.
[/quote] she did a restore to factory defaults as far as I can see

Post device manager output again please. Expand "mice and pointing devices".

To prevent more problems in further instructions: Do you have another external usb mouse and do that work?

Gregrocker...I don't have any disks so had no choice but to do it via Samsung Recovery but yes it did a complete re-install back to factory setting hence me having to find a couple of drivers!.....my mouse/touchpad does not show up as having anything wrong with it and it says its up to date....but obviously isn't!

Angie had you read Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 you'd have seen that in Step 1 it provides the installer for your licensed version to do the install.

Just to let you know I managed to sort out the scrolling....I uninstalled first and rebooted but it installed a 'compatibility mouse' which is not what I wanted so I went onto Samsungs 'download drivers' for my R519 machine and found a 2010 touchpad.
Downloaded it, extracted files and then I clicked to update the compatibiltiy mouse but clicked for it to look on my machine rather than online (cos online it just kept saying..upto date driver installed) so by making it look on my computer for an updated mouse device I got it too look in my downloads file and clicked the touchpad extract folder and hey presto it updated it too that one (which was the one I wanted to have).
So rebooted again and then I checked and the Synaptics device was back which it was and so I clicked on it and set up scrolling very happy that it is done....So hopefully now I have it all sorted out and up and running fine....Thanks once again for all help given.
