    Preventing The Pc From Sleeping

    Hi there
    what i need to know is how can i make my pc never to sleep or stop it from going in some kinda mode that makes the pc cancel any running programs ?
    Not talking about the plan settings (Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Power Options\Edit Plan Settings) i already have it on never sleep what im talking about it this i have a slow internet connection so once i downloaded 13Gb what i did was started the download and went to sleep then after 8 hours it didnt download more than 3gb with a error saying no connection so i had to stay by the pc to refresh it or move the mouse every couple hours so it dose not stop the download

    And now waiting to download BF4 which is 30GB with a 500kb per sec

    Well, if you already set the option "N ever to sleep" it should be up all the time. Correct me if I am wrong, even if you lock your PC downloads should not be interrupted when sleep option is turned off. I will suggest to have a word with your ISP.

    I too download files from Steam/Origin and keep my PC up all night and never had this issue.

    check for virus/malwares in the meantime.

    ISP = Internet Service Provider

    Screen Saver should not interrupt the download, but if you do use SS you could try turning it off just to make sure.
    You might try using a Download Manager. Then if the download is interrupted you should be able to resume the download without losing everything already downloaded.
    If your PC is really going to sleep you can find a Sleep Event in Event Viewer.

    I assume you've adjusted it to High Performance and also disabled Hibernation and Hybrid?

    Adjusted both On Battery and On Power?

    Set Inactive Disk to Never

    Is there a Dell control panel installed? Something that would overide Windows default settings?

    In Device Manager you could make sure Windows will not turn off the network adapter to save power.
