    Merging files


    When backing up files on my computer, is there a way to merge files, like a revised file into an older backed up one? I tend to get too many backed up files that I'm not sure if I want to delete or not.

    Yes there is. Use SyncToy to do your backups:

    merging files


    Thanks for the info. i have downloaded Synctoy and backed up several files. i will see how it works out when I merge some files in a few days. Is this program feasible for whole system backups?

    No, use an imaging program like Macrium Reflect Free or Acronis True Image (not free).
    Backup to a 2nd or 3rd internal hard drive or an external USB attached hard drive.

Good morning! Has anyway experienced how two (or more) folders merge? I've tried several times but instead of asking me to overwrite existing files and folders W7 puts them in there en renames them with "* - copy". This way I loose track of what's happening. Any help is appreciated! :) ...
