    Any Suggestions

Being bored on a 3 week business trip to a crappy location.....I pre ordered win 7 (upgrade) for delivery to my hotel and it arrived today. However, I failed to bring the installaion XP disk with me for confirming win seven will be an upgrade. Is there a work around or I'm I just screwed until I get home in 3 weeks?

    Any suggestions?

    Hello Smooth,

XP doesn't qualify for a in-place upgrade anyway. You can still do either a Custom Install or Clean install without the XP disc.

    Hope this helps,

Thanks for the information Brink, can I upgrade the beta version (build 7137) until I get home to do a clean install. Even though I'm using the beta version on a sprat partition from my main operating system I will be able to still use all my applications on the beta version. I know this was poor planning on my part.

I do not believe you will be able to upgrade a beta build to the retail Upgrade Windows 7 version. Only a clean install instead.

ya, figures that, very poor planning on my part. I'm on a last minute business trip, unfortunately its a 3 week trip. If I would have had a bit more notice I would have packed everything (application Cd's) with me.

I have nothing to loose....I might try upgrading the beta version just see what happens.

Here is an idea, is there anyway to save my program files from the beta version and then import them into the new version.

    Smooth,

Sorry, but programs will always have to be reinstalled afterwards unless you do a inplace upgrade install.
