    Hi, you could have a bad/failing hard drive. If it's a spinner drive you can run a test on it.

    Hard drive(s)test(s):
    Pick one for your HDD brand or use Seatools.

    As Britton said, run the hard drive diagnostics and then post the results. The error message indicates the boot process became corrupt at some point, leading to Windows not being able to boot.

    Did you run any 'optimization' programs? Were or have you been infected with malware recently?

    Another thought is if you had a dual boot setup with a Linux distro. It would leave behind the grub boot loader and cause this....I think.

    Linux dual boots do generally mess with the MBR and Boot Manager, but once Windows actually messed up my Linux dual boot on the family computer

    It may not have been necessary to reinstall.

    If it won't start here is everything that can be done for Troubleshooting Windows 7 Failure to Start leading up to if necessary rescuiing any files to Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 or Clean Install Windows 7
