    Looking for Cheap

Where have you found the best deal on Ultimate Upgrade (without being a student)?

$199 seems to be all over, but I'm looking for a better price.

I saw $179.99 for OEM version of Ultimate at NewEgg just yesterday (via their promo email that you can sign up for).

Do you "really" need the features that come with Ultimate? Seems that many want that version because the name implies it's the best, but a majority of Ultimate users never actually use the extra features that Ultimate comes with.

Pro gives you everything that Ultimate does except for the 35 language packs and Bitlocker. That's it.\

Well, Ultimate actually has a couple more things like BranchCache Distributed Cache and a Subsystem for Unix-based applications (where if you have to ask, no, you wouldn't use them):

But, yes, the vast majority of consumers insisting on Ultimate wouldn't use a single one of its additional features. And for that matter they probably wouldn't even use any of Professional's additional features. They just want to pay extra so their computer says "Ultimate" when it boots up.

I'd like to have the XP mode thing in Professional, but I am cheap, so I stuck with premium.

Really, I think the names are quite ridiculous. What happened to "regular"? Or just "home"? The 'lowest' version is "Premium". Kinda dumb, isn't it? And "Ultimate" sounds a bit over the top. I mean, I would expect something that is "Ultimate" to be the end-all, be-all of operating systems. It could run 1 million applications on a 90 MHz processor AND cook you dinner.
