replace laptop wd drive for ssd
I have a hp laptop pavilion which has a fairly fast chip amd turlon 64, but has wd 1600 beve hard drive,
can I replace that with a SSD..the unit is about 7 years old

Take the hard drive out. Does it have an adapter on the end ? Will the adapter go an the ssd ?
These are things you have to check out.
If your hard drive is sata and no type of adapter, you should have no problems.
Normally any 2.5" SSD fits into a laptop. But as AddRam says, check whether you have a standard layout and whether it is Sata - not IDE.
