Increase number of folders remembered in Windows Explorer history?

Does it show them in a reasonably chronological order that matches a test you've actually done? Everything I see in 'Recent Places' on my system is just total gibberish completely unrelated to any sequence of folders I've just viewed. You're REALLY seeing such a list of folders you just visited?

Can anyone else here confirm or refute this? Still wondering if it's something at this end.

BTW: I see neither 'Recent Places' or 'Recent Items' in Vista at all. Just 'Recent PLaces' in Win7.

Have done exactly that many, many times... and get nothing remotely resembling what I get when I click the drop-down list from that tiny triangle in WE.... the menu that was the focus of my question at the top of this thread.

At least where you guys are talking about in 'Recent Places." Sorting the main '(user)\Recent' menu by 'Date Modified' works to a degree. But I've never seen a reasonably accurate history in any places outside that drop-down menu next to WE's Back & Forward buttons.

Feels like I'm chasing my tail here.... but how the history is kept there, and whether or not it can accessed and displayed differently is what I was hoping someone here could shed some light on. Maybe it's time to dig up my old access info & revisit the gurus on the Compuserve WUGNET forums.
