    SoftGridTray.exe is missing

SoftGridTray.exe is missing from my C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Application Virtualization Client. I only found out because I was trying to solve Event ID 7001 and ID 7022 errors that concern the APP-V Client. The website at The Application Virtualization client service may hang in the "Starting" state recommended that I remove SoftGridTray.exe from the following key: 1. Using regedit, navigate to the key named "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run". 2. Remove the SoftGridTray value from this key. The SoftGridTray value will contain a path. For example: SoftGridTray="C:\Program Files\Microsoft Application Virtualization Client\SFTTray.exe" /autostart." Now the problem is that I don't even have this SFTTray.exe. Is it a essential that I replace it? Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi, Welcome to Sevenforums.

sfttray.exe is a Windows 32 application that may lead to system malfunction if your computer is infected with sfttray.exe or missing the necessary components of sfttray.exe. sfttray.exe error can be fixed either by re-installing the associated program and then reboot your computer. You can also simply copy the same sfttray.exe file from another same operating system and replace the missing/broken file. However, due to the nature of your computer environments, the sfttray.exe related Registry entries may have been invalid/broken or even infected by malware or virus, leaving the sfttray.exe error messages unresolved.

Thank you for your response. I was about to replace the sfttray.exe when I found out that it was related to the Microsoft Office Starter and Office Click-to-Run, some kind of virtualization stuff which I don't use at all. So, I decided to uninstall them. I find that my laptop now runs better without the virtualization stuff or maybe it's in my own imagination. LOL.
