2 HDD = 1 C Drive question

SSDs are great and outlive HDDs. I have some that are constantly running - since more than 4 years. But just today one died. That happens - has happened with a couple of HDDs too. You just have to keep backups.

Both are pretty much the same price. Black is a little faster, Blue is a bit bigger and lower power use...Do you think the speed increase of the black would be noticable?

A suggestion. Since you have a TB HDD which I guess would hold all of your user data. You can get a 120 GB SSD for about the same price as a 750 HDD. Put Win 7 and all of your programs on the SSD and your user data on the TB HDD. Your PC will be so much faster it is hard to believe. Your programs will open in one second.

I would not run any OS on a HDD. I still have 6 SSDs and I love them. On my desktops they are all 60GB which cost $60 to $80 these days. For the data you might consider a SSHD. This one was $95 with promo code. Raid is too complex.

That could be trimmed down by quite a bit. How big is your RAM.

You must be referring to some data folders also. The OS is only about 30 GB and I would be hard pressed to believe you have another 100 GB of only programs. == Putting games on the SSD does not serve any purpose. They can be put on the HDD.

1. get rid of the hiberfile. Run this command - saves 8GB

powercfg -h off

2. Reduce the pagefile to 2GB - saves 6GB

3. Run this program. In the graphic click on the 3 largest chunks and tell us what they are and their size.
