Why is new Core i3 4000 Haswell hanging? 4gb RAM?
Fresh Win7 install on HP Pavilion 17-e019dx with nothing running at Startup except AV. Today I am copying a large file, open UltraISO to write Win7 ISO to flash stick. The whole time this is going on (slowly) there is the annoying blue circle going whenever mouse crosses the open Ultra ISO window.
Is this most likely running up against the stock 4gb DD3 RAM, indicating only that it needs another stick? I didn't happen to check Task Manager RAM usage at the time, but now doing a simple copy operation uses 33% which seems high.
The reason I ask is that I am hesitant to put out another $50 for RAM on this Best Buy Black Friday $400 laptop unless I am sure it's a keeper. So far there are some other minor annoyances like only 1 USB2 port, but 2 USB3 ports that don't even fit a USB plug so why call it backwards compatible? Also the keyboard is soft enough it feels almost cheap...or else it's like butter which might be a good thing.
I have until Jan 15 to decide with Best Buy's holiday return policy, but might end up keeping it even if I sell it since I got 3000 AA bonus miles on the purchase.
What say you?
