Windows 7 will not hibernate or update - new hard drive

I just created an image with windows 7 backup and recovery, restored that image to a new larger hard drive.
Everything works great and just like before. Except for two things,
Windows update keeps saying the service is not running and it is, and windows does not hibernate when I choose the hibernate option and logs me out but my laptop does not turn off. IT goes to the login screen.

When I log back in everything is like it was when I hit hibernate. Just my pc never went off.

I did not have any of these issues before I moved to the new hard drive.

Disk Check had no errors, SFC had this Beginning system scan. This process will take some time.

Beginning verification phase of system scan.
    Verification 100% complete.
Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them.
Details are included in the CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example
    C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log

    log is attached

Hibernate like sleep issues are normally Display driver issues so update that driver from HP's Support Downloads webpage for your model.

Then work through Windows Update - Reset - Windows 7 Forums
System Update Readiness Tool fixes Windows Update errors in Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008 R2, and Windows Server 2008
    reset Windows Update components

If this is the original HP factory preinstalled WIn7 then that is the worst possible install one can have larded with crippling bloatware and duplicate utilities which interfere with better versions built into Win7. So I would Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 following the steps to get an d keep a perfect install.
