Windows 7: Circumventing UAC in task scheduler

Circumventing UAC in task scheduler

Hi guys,

My scheduled tasks are failing due to the UAC settings popping up the confirmation box. I cannot set UAC to 'Never Notify' as it gets reset by the IT area.

I have read a million things saying to use a shortcut to run the scheduled task (eg. Elevated Program Shortcut without UAC Prompt - Create) but I am not sure if this will help me as I want the task to run at a scheduled time, not when I run the shortcut. I don't see the benefit in this as if I need to activate the task manually at the time I want wouldn't I just run the actual program directly without any scheduled task or elevated shortcut and then just click yes to the UAC prompt?? Am I missing something?

Can someone please help me!!! Any advice on how to get a scheduled task to run at a certain time and bypass the UAC prompt would be very very very muchly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!!

P.S. I also need this to run no matter who is logged into the computer or even if noone is logged in and the computer is just sitting idle....

Hi Warwick,

Unfortunately we can't help you bypass the security settings that your IT administrator has in place.

That would be covered under Rule #6:
