Cant access my folder and subfolder please help

i have this folder located on my partition drive but yesterday i just change its permission and ownership, im using a desktop and i have administrator rights in the desktop. i restarted my computer then i want to open the folder that i change but i can't see it anymore, im trying to open the subfolders shortcut in my desktop but theres an error "the item referred to by this shortcut cannot be accessed. You may not have the appropriate permissions." i tried to change the sub folder security, in the security tab indicated there that "To continue. you must be an administrative user with permission to view this objects security properties" i press continue another tab opened advance security setting for the sub folder. i tried to change the ownership but another error prompted "Windows Security : unable to set new owner on Sub Folder Access is denied."

i tried to search for the main folder that i changed but i cant find it the path of the file is under drive I:
i tried making a new folder with the same name but its not changing means that my main folder is in there but cannot be viewed.
i tried making folder option visible its not invisible.

i tried everything i dont know whats the problem. we are using a domain here.

i open the subfolder there's a prompt " you dont currently have permission to access this folder. click continue to permanently get access to this folder"
i clicked continue Prompt: "You have been denied permission to access this folder. To gain access to this folder you will need to use the security tab"
i press security tab another error Prompted: "Windows cannot find 'I: Dandy-PC\BACKUP\DNA2013\Dandy Data.' Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again."

can you see the folder you want to click but just can't open it right? it is visible to you? you might be able take ownership of it them change its permissions back to you. Take Ownership Shortcut

the subfolder is visible because i have a desktop shortcut but when you will locate it manually the main folder cannot be found

    example I:backup\newfolder

the desktop has a shortcut of newfolder but when i will locate it the backup folder cannot be found my visibility for folder option is invisible folders are viewable. but the problem still remains if i change the settings of the ownership and permission. i cant change the settings of the ownership and permission even though im using a administrator account on my desktop computer. btw this is a company desktop it seems like i have changed the setting of that folder into domain administrator.

    thanks :)

oh if your not a domain admin then your screwed, for the most part is your computer actually on a domain with roaming profiles? if so you might need to tell your domain admin politely to lower the permissions of the folder. Is the folder in a share you access or local? can you post a screen shot of the permissions for the folder under its properties security tab if your allowed to of course, i understand if you can't show what the folder is called for security reasons.
