If you are upgrading from Vista x64 then you can upgrade to W7 x64 as opposed to formatting and clean installing.
Hello Cando,
I'm sorry, but can you give more details on what you mean?
If you mean you are wanting to install a 64-bit Windows 7 and you have a current 32-bit installation, then yes.
Hope this helps,
Shawn
I did a format of my drive which had vista 64bit installed. When I install Win 7 from the Boot-up as I usually do in a clean install how do I get 64bit? I understand Win 7 has both 32 and 64 on the upgrade install disk ?
Thks Gil
Cando,
The retail package of Windows 7 comes with two installation discs. One is marked 32-bit, and the other 64-bit. You would just use the 64-bit one. If you do not have a retail Windows 7, then you will only have whatever one your disc is for then.
