    Looking for a way to decrease display size of windows for 32" LCD TV


    Hi, guys...looking for an assist for this issue. I'm used to using a dual monitor setup and having a bunch of windows open, spread all over between the two monitors. Opportunity came up to get a (cheap) 32" HD LCD TV...so I thought it would be worthwhile to swap the dual monitors out for one massive screen. It's great...picture is fine...but...not only is the screen LARGE...so is everything else on the screen...icons, text, application windows, etc.

    I'm basically wondering...is there a way to decrease the size of everything so that I can utilize the one screen as I would a dual screen setup? I'm not talking about just shrinking the icons, etc...I'd like to be able to have numerous windows open just as I would with dual monitors without piling them on one another.

    Hopefully that makes sense what I'm asking...

    My AOC monitor came with software that let you split / adjust your monitor configuration. I don't use it but perhaps 3rd party software such as displayfusion might work for you.

    Here is the problem, TVs may physically be bigger then your dual monitor setup, but so are the individual pixels that make up the screen. They are designed to sit across the room, not on a desk inches from your face. You should go back to the dual monitor setup, a TV is not a suitable replacement. An HD TV is the same resolution (1920x1080) regardless of how big it is.

    If your resolution settings are set to maximum and your DPI is set to 100%, then there's not much you can do. logicearth explained it in layman's terms well enough.

    I agree with Logic, TV`s make for a terrible pc monitor. I rarely hook up my Sony anymore, and if I do it`s just to watch a movie.

    Best to leave the HDTV to what is was made for...............Sports Broadcasts and Blue-Rays
