Strange , you should see a security update for IE11 from the 12/12/13 installed
Yeah, it isn't. It's weird. The computer thinks it is IE 11 but it won't install any lower versions because it says is running them all?
will it let you uninstall what it thinks it has so he has no IE then just install 9? Is he on a domain?
Yes, we uninstalled 10 and it says 9, but the browser and "what's my browser" still says 11 and and yes we are on a domain.

The uninstalling 11 is company wide, as the site we use for medical records isn't compatible. It has wen tsmooth for everyone except this guy and his laptop. It is really bothering me and do not want to wipe it, also confirmed there is no malware or virus's

are you sure he has rights to change IE in the GPO? depending on what the DC is it will change as 2008 has tighter hold on that stuff then 2003(had this happen in mine once) you might have to manually remove IE and then install 9.

oh should be fine then, odd that his update failed you could try restoring back to before he tried it but that normally causes more harm than good in my experience, are you able to see IE in windows features, you might be able to remove it that way?
