Will the Coimplete Back Up for Vista work on Windows 7?

Hello, i have a friend who just got done backing up his OS/Files with a total of 11 DVDs and i was wondering... if i were to take those DVDs say... the first one, will Windows 7 allow to restore the DVDs or whatever? i doubt it though as i think the back up feature backs up the OS as well right? Thanks to whoever respowns.

My friend wants to install Windows 7 by reformatting as me and him both hate doing the upgrade option. Had bad experiene in the past with 98 to Xp and then Xp to vista. Simply just didn't work and the performance afterwords was pretty well... bad.

What OS did you have before...Vista Home or Business..or Ultimate
I know Vista Home does not do the Complete Backup restore.. but the Business and Ultimate do..

So if you only had Vista Home than your backup would put all the files and your computer back on..but none of the system files of Vista Home...so this would work (However I found out that the Vista Home Backup backups alot of un useful files that you don't need.. I would go though these files before putting them on you Windows 7 computer..)

But if you had the other versions of Vista and you did a complete backup or (backup entire computer) than you would have the OS and system files for that OS..on those DVD disks..

and that backup would not help you..

    Hope this Helps..
