    Deleted Favorite or Not?

I'm running W7 x64 (7000) and usually when I delete a URL from my list of Favorites, it reappears at the bottom! Does this happen to anyone else?

    Hi Tom,

    Welcome to the Seven Forums.

Doesn't seem to be happening here. If you close favorites and open it back up, is it still there?

Yes, it's back permanently until I delete it again. Some times I have to delete it two or three times before it's gone for good!

Are you doing the deleting from IE or are you in the Favorites folder in Win Explorer? Might be something to do with IE.

I'm doing it from within IE.

    Hello Tom,

One thing to try is run explorer as Administrator (right click the shortcut) if this works check the permissions on the favourites

I have full permission on the Favorites folder. I keep all my folders (Downloads, Desktop, Favorites, etc.) on a drive separate from my Win 7 install, using the Location tab in Properties to relocate them. If I have to do a clean reinstall, it's so much easier that way. One clue is that if I delete the URL from the Favorite folder directly and empty the trash, it doesn't reappear. There's probably a bug in IE8. The only thing I don't understand is why it's only happening to me!

That entire favorites thing is just a mess from what I'am seeing. I have vanishing favicons all the time and also my sign in cookies vanish for no reason. I had no such problems with Vista on my other partition so it's a Windows 7 problem all the way. I would think they could fix these types of problems with an update so we can only hope that more people complain about it.

    Hi chev65,

That's what Beta testing is all about, the best thing is to provide feedback using the built in facility and it should be fixed before the final release.

Whether this actual issue is with 7 or IE8 the reporting of the issue should get to the correct team at MS.

Although Windows 7 is a stable piece of software, as a beta problems will show up

Of course I have reported this problem in great detail to Microsoft. It will be nice if an update comes along and it fixes this problem. Looks like favorites has some strange behavior in general but I'am sure it's fixable.
