How do I reset the shortcuts default program?

I have a USB drive that turns whatever file or folder you put into it into a shortcut (*.ink) file. My sister tried to put a video on it and open it on my laptop, but she tried to open it with Windows Media Player. Of course, it worked fine, but now every shortcut wants to open with Media Player. I tried doing system restores, but nothing worked. Is there a way I can fix this?

Hello JunerEclipse, and welcome to Seven Forums.

If you like, you could download the .reg file for the listed .lnk option in the tutorial below to easily restore the default associations of .lnk files as needed.

    Hope this helps, :)

This shortcut .inik is a pendrive virus.
There are Three ways to solve this problem.

1.Install quickheal total security 2014,and automatically virus is deleted, and perform clean format of drive.

2.There is a software named USB SHOW.Install it and scan ur pendrive. It restores shortcuts with original ones.

    3.Perform these steps below.

Click on "Start" -->Run-->type cmd and click on OK.

Here I assume your pendrive as G:

    Enter this command.

    attrib -h -r -s /s /d g:\*.*

Note : Replace the letter g with your flash drive letter. and perform clean format..
