"STOP: C0000135 The program can't start because %hs is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix the problem

Hello all,
This is the first time I have ever asked for help on an online forum, in most cases I have been able to fix the problem myself, however on this occasion I am completely flummoxed.
My computer in stuck in a loop boot cycle. If I disable the loop boot option thingy that is located by pressing F8 the following blue screen and message is displayed: "
STOP: C0000135 The program can't start because %hs is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix the problem”
I have absolutely no idea what has caused this problem and it is a first for me. I have read of many other people on the Internet having the same problem, it is often associated AVG antivirus. I can confirm that I have never had this software installed on my computer.
Please see the following link. This would link refers to a thread closed that describes my problem to the letter and also offered a fix, would have similar fix to this be needed for my computer?

Approximately 2 weeks ago I cloned the hard drive that is now not working. I connected the the clone drive to my PC and showing off be booted up with no problems. Then I proceeded to copy over my emails and their contents of the desktop from a nonworking drive to the working drive. I then uninstalled the Acronis which is completely random I know. It’s not a program that I’ve ever used and just didn’t want on my PC any more. After a reboot I then got exactly the same error message and blue screen on the cloned drive. I have plugged both drives externally into a laptop and scanned them with Malwarebytes. A few issues were found but I don’t believe that they contributed to this problem.
As mentioned in the closed thread I have used the tool FARBAR36.exe to scan my computer. Would it be ok for me to show the scan results here?

Try booting into System Recovery Options on the F8 Advanced Boot Tools menu, Win7 installation Media or System Repair CD to run Startup Repair.

If it doesn't succeed or offer to System Restore for you, from the Recovery Tools list provided run System Restore to before the problem happened - working backward if necessary to a good configuration.

Thank you for your reply. This does seem to be a common problem but as of yet seems to be no fix. I have tried system restore, but it does not work. I have also tried to run from win7 repair disk, but again this option is not possible. Have also tried to run a sfc scan, but I get the message there is a system repair pending which requires a reboot. I have tried a reboot but still get the same message.
I really have no idea what to do next?

Go ahead and post back the Farbar Recovery scan results.

Work through the steps for Troubleshooting Windows 7 Failure to Start to go over your install thoroughly and gather clues. Try again to System Restore from disk System Recovery Options as this is the clear solution to the problem.

If you'd prefer to save time, I'd skip to doing a Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 since its the opportunity to get and keep a perfect install with our help. Then make sure System REstore is always turned on and plenty of space apportioned for restore points: System Protection - Change Disk Space Usage

Report back results, ask back any questions.

I would really like to avoid doing a clean install if possible. Mainly because I have no idea what caused this problem. Without knowing what caused this to happen it could very well happen again after a clean install. As mentioned before, I had a clone of the drive that booted up perfectly. It was only when I copied over my emails, desktop contents and did the faulty drive start to give the same blue screen message. I have looked for dump files that may have been produced, but there doesn’t seem to be any.

Are you copying back in settings from User AppData? This is a corruption path into a fresh install or image recovery. I would limit what I copy back to just the User folders dragged over from storage not using a backup program. I would also run awhile using the web based email for your program before adding any mail crapware since it can cause problems.

I would phase my image recovery like is described in the Clean REinstall: first enable Automatically deliver drivers via Windows Update (Step 3) then run all rounds of Updates with reboots until there are no more. Then use it for awhile to see if you get the issue. Next install programs one by one with space in between to test performance - likewise after data reimportation, saving suspect mail or others to last with Restore Points to pinpoint the problem.

You should not have any such problems again if you stick closely to the Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 steps given which are what has worked best for tens of thousands of users here without a single complaint or report like you're making.

I’m not sure I understand you correctly. I have not done a clean install, and would like to avoid this if possible. Are you able to read the log report and offer your opinion as to what is causing the problem I am having? At the moment the computer will not boot into windows.

This appears to say that you cloned or ran image recovery and had problems when you copied over the items you mention into it. I was trying to show you how to phase the steps after cloning/re-imaging similar to how it is phased in Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 . This is almost a diagnostic install since it spaces your Updates and then Program installs so that you can monitor performance after each. You can do this for the image too, since if it is stable after being applied then the problem is being caused by something you're adding. So phase how you add these things with enough time between each to see exactly what is causing it. Capiche?

I would also read over the steps for doing the Reinstall above to compare the install you have with the one in the tutorial. Since you're here at the top site for Clean Reinstalls we can help you get a perfect install better than almost all others out there..

Thank you again for your help with this. I understand what your saying now. The problem is I do not have another backup. Both drives are not working now. Unless I can fix one of them, my only option is to do a clean install. I never made an image of the drive, only clone of one. And now it seem this does not work because of files I have copied to it, or because of Acronis which I removed from the drive. I only removed this programs because I was not going to use it.
