SFC /SCANNOW Error and System Image Error

    Hello everyone,

Whenever I try to create a System Image, it keeps telling me an error has occurred.
It tells me: "Windows Backup encountered an error when accessing the remote shared folder. (0x8078015B)
Additional Information: The semaphore timeout period has expired. (0x80070079)"

Also, when I try to run SFC /SCANNOW, it will stop at 54% and says "Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation"...

But everything else seems to be running fine. I have already tried restoring my computer to an earlier point.

I am so stuck now and will accept all suggestions!

Ok so now my SFC /SCANNOW finishes but I get:

"Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them. Details are included in the CBS.Log.."

    What to do now?

Backup your files and re install windows.

It`s the only way you`ll make it right.

There is no way to fix it? I have to re install Windows?

Also, how did this even happen in the first place? I didn't do anything to my laptop..

I do have an previous System Image..would that help at all?

Everything seems to be working fine...it all started when I wanted to create a more updated System Image. Then I encountered issues with that and SFC /SCANNOW...if I hadn't have thought of creating another System Image, I wouldn't have really cared about it..

yep. I agree. In a situation like this reinstalling windows is about all ya can do so hopefully you can back up anything vitally important if you can do so.

    A few months..

If I perform another System Restore, would all of my Chkdsk progress be restored back to the faulty state, since the Chkdsk fixed lot's of bad clusters..

No. System restore will not mess with anything that chkdsk was used to fix so you should be a-ok.

Thanks for all of the help guys! Really appreciate it!

I am following the SFC -SCANNOW Command tutorial and I have installed the System Update Readiness Tool. And after restarting, I am running SFC /SCANNOW again now.
