Stubborn Microsoft, try un installing it with Ccleaner, click on the tools icon. And if that fails ( which it shouldn`t ) you can re install MSE, but 1st download it and use the file you just downloaded. Delete the old file if you still have it ( don`t use that one )

Sometimes when you need to fix a program you can`t uninstall, you can just re install it and it fixes the problem.

Microsoft Security Essentials won't install if it doesn't recognize a legit OS.

Download CKScanner by askey127 from HERE
Important - Save it to your desktop.
Doubleclick CKScanner.exe and click Search For Files.
After a very short time, when the cursor hourglass disappears, click Save List To File.
A message box will verify the file saved.
Double-click the CKFiles.txt icon on your desktop and copy/paste the contents in your next reply.

    Next,
    • Please download http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 MGADiag and save it to your desktop.
    • Double click the icon on your desktop.
    • Push
    • Push
    • Go to Start -> Run and type in "Notepad"
    • Go to Edit -> Paste in notepad.
    • x out all of the numbers and letters in the line beginning with "Windows Product Key:"
    • Copy and paste that log here.
