Problem properly sorting contents in download folder.

So I downloaded some mp3 files onto my computer and they all ended up in the download folder. I didn't see that as a problem until I realized that something related to downloading sound files in that specific directory must have changed the sorting options at the top so instead of the regular downloads sorting (name, date, size, etc.) it now shows the same sorting options that are appropriate for the music folder, such as name, number, contributing artist, album, etc.

Please help me fix this problem and restore sorting options back to how they were before. Thank you very much.

    Hello protocolcode0,

This would be the work of Automatic Folder Type Discovery when Windows will automatically change the folder template of a folder to match the file type of the last file added or saved in the folder. For example, if your folder contains music files and you add a picture file, then Windows may change the folder template and view to the "Picture" template to match the new picture file.

You could change the folder template back to what you wanted instead of "Music",.....
...or set a default folder template for all folders to effectively disable Automatic Folder Type Discovery.
    Hope this helps, :)

The problem has been resolved. I went to the Downloads directory and I right clicked on blank space and then hit properties, and then customize or customization or something like that (I forget which one it is), and then I set the folder template to General Items, as I think it was listed as. Anyways, thank you very much for your help. :)
