Desktop rearranging after exiting any game/program

Like the title says, every time I leave another program or game, my desktop screen icons are all out of place.
I use Desktop OK_64 to arrange the icons which also can restore the desktop layout to a previous date if necessary. Presently, I just move them back to where they belong. This problem happened 3 days ago and I haven't installed any software prior to that. Any ideas?

The spot in the registry where Windows keeps track of folder layouts might be full or have bad data. Use the steps in the tutorial to reset that info back to the default state.

Folder View Settings - Reset All to Default

Then reposition your desktop shortcuts/icons and restart the computer.

I think it is a bad habit keeping more than 3 shortcuts on the desktop. I suggest to use a toolbar. That is a lot neater and does not scramble. Plus, the shortcuts can be accessed from anywhere.

    Screen Resolution

Do your games change your screen resolution? That could be a possible reason why your icons move.
