    Account "Roger" appears as "c:\users\user"

    Hi all,
I recently created a new user account on a win 7 home premium machine before I'd had much experience with win 7 (but years with 2000 and xp).
Instead of users\Roger\ it created users\user which I now realise is not correct. (I didn't call my account "user", either, before you ask. :) )
Can I fix this without deleting the profile and starting again, as I've done hours of work since that little stuff up. :)
    Thanks in advance,
    Roger.

I noticed that if I created an account titled, "X", and later changed it to "Y", that the user account folder would still be called "X".

Don't remember the version of windows, but think it was 8. See this: Changing an account name doesn't change the corresponding - Microsoft Community

Don't think it is possible to change, but I could be wrong.

Create a Roger account and copy everything from the User to Roger, except a few files.

Directions here: Fix a corrupted user profile - Microsoft Windows Help

Delete the User account once you are satisfied the Roger account is good.

Thanks for your help Rich, Dusty and ICit2lol, much appreciated. :) I'll have a go at the directions for fixing a corrupted Windows profile; they seem quite straight forward.
