Try Downloading the latest graphics drivers from here:

We need to see all settings. If you'll notice the Miscellaneous Devices on the second picture can be expanded to see more.
THere are also other pages in your BIOS which need scouring. You're looking for Display device, GPU, video, or similar.
Thoroughness is of utmost importance in a case like this. Nothing can be missed. If in doubt, provide a picture or ask back.

OK, thanks for the excellent cooperation. It seems you have followed most every step for troubleshooting and the reinstall.
I've elevated this to ask for more help on switchable graphics since the issue may lie in the display settings. If it was a card upgrade then Dell should have a setting in BIOS to disable chip.
It would be helpful to see those other choices under the Display dropdown, and what is available on Advanced Settings which should reveal the adapter being used for certain.
Do you normally use multiple monitors? Can you see settings in Advanced on that page for deselecting them.
Can you also choose each adapter Intel and Nvidia with Try to Connect Anyway on VGA, reboot to see if it still hangs?
