Just install windows yourself, it`s very easy and we`re here to help, burn a 64 bit dvd and you`ll have windows installed in 15 minutes.

How did your warranty get screwed up just from ordering some dvd`s ?

Don`t you know when your warranty is up ?

    Don`t you have paperwork ? A receipt ? A bank statement ?

I can`t believe you just can`t call and say hey, you sent me the wrong software and they won`t send you what you want

I agree with AddRam here; definitely go for trying to install windows 7 if you can somehow get the right media with the install files on it. And yea; I too would be considering taking legal action against them if need be as for them to tell you your warranty is expired; if in fact it isnt; is just ridiculous.

I really appreciate all the feed back it has done me a world of good. And yes you would figure that they would fix there mistake and send me the right software but they did not and were sending me to every different department to sort out the warranty issue. Apparently some agent sold me a warranty under there think pad department just to make a sale and then even changed the type of machine on the warranty to some system I have never heard of regardless they have been horrible as far as hanging up on me because I wanted to speak to a manager and they wanted to be the one to tell me what I could and could not do even though they can see on there system that it says I have a warranty I paid for until sept. 2015 but yet since i have a n ideapad it is another department so it does me no good to have it and I had my invoice stored on my tablet but unfortunately that was stolen so I had no way of recovering it. But they have not heard the last of me not by a long shot and they say that there agent some how mixed my acount with another person with my exact same name in another state and for that reason they cant pull the invoice it self from there records just a bunch of nonsense! But every thing will work out and I just thank every one who has care enough to reply to this thread and for all the help and I hope to become a good contributing member and keep gaining the knowledge!

Now you have every thing working well It would be a good idea to start doing an Image and regular backups to an external drive if that is possible :) I forgot to mention that the Lenovo Energy Management has a useful tool for keeping your Fan clean .. Does not need to be used that often ...

I just noticed that on my new Lenovo G500's Energy Management software which also will keep the battery charged at 60% when its on A/C power to preserve it. These reasons seem enough to reinstall that software after a Clean Reinstall. It doesn't even need to start with Windows which is also nice.

How exactly does the fan cleaner work, Maxie?

Hey Greg .. It extracts the dust by running at different speeds .. Also on some Lenovos the Energy Management provides access to the Function Keys ..

I wonder if not having it start with Windows removes the ability to use the Function keys without pressing FN key first?

Which Lenovo softwares do you allow to start with Windows?

I have none Greg .. It does not seem to make any difference .. I only have the Energy Management and Boot Optimizer Installed .. The rest is just bloatware

Looks like Boot Optimizer isn't available on G500, but does it really speed boot by 20% if its allowed to Start with Windows.

My issue now is that even if I turn off touchpad using Fkey, or disable in Mouse options where there's also a setting to "Disable touchpad if USB mouse is detected" it still keeps coming back on and gives me skipping cursor due to palm drag.

I would say it does Greg .. My boot times are around 20 seconds on average .. Not sure what you could do about the touchpad .. I have got used to it took me awhile though ..
