Getting rid of hidden file folders

I have recently had some work done on my computer. When it was returned I had "shadow" files which I had not seen before. I understand that these are called "hidden file folder drives". Can anyone give me a simple step by step description of how to get rid of them please. I understand that what I need to do is as follows:

dont show hidden files folders drives
hide extensionsm of known file types
hide protected operating system files
hide empty drives

Well, the vernacular sounds a little unusual to me, but if what you are trying to do is "hide" not "remove" files and folders which you do not normally see, there is a good tutorial with the steps here at:
Hidden Files and Folders - Show or Hide

My own preference is to see file types (extensions), not hide them, but to each his/her own.

The first thing I do when installing Windows on a new computer is to uncheck those options in folder

dont show hidden files folders drives
hide extensionsm of known file types
hide protected operating system files
hide empty drives
I do not recommend hiding extensions of known file types. I always want to know what the file extension is as the spammers send you a file called prettygirl.jpg.exe and the computer cuts off the .exe and you might think that it is really a .jpg and it runs and executes when you click on the file.

Just my Opinion.
