    Event viewer item...interpretation and advice, please!

    Can anyone tell me what the
    Code:
    DCOM got error "1053" attempting to start the service WSearch with arguments "" in order to run the server:
    {9E175B6D-F52A-11D8-B9A5-505054503030}
    error means, and how it needs dealing with?

    Background
    For some time, until a couple of days back, I had been meeting numerous hangs, freezes and BSODs with BSOD data collection never completing, computer difficult to power up and monitor remaining black.

    My man thought it could be a motherboard problem, but one evening I changed the mains cable, since when the computer has worked well. I do hope that's the end of needing a new motherboard or even a computer.

    But in view of the background I am concerned that the above event is still occurring.

    See if this solves the problem;

    Type "Indexing" without the quotes in the "Start Orb" caption box. Select the entry "Indexing Options" from the displayed list. Then; / Advanced Options / Rebuild Index, and the Windows Search Service should start.
