Windows 7: Boot Manager Status 0xc000000f, boot selection failed.

    Hello,
    I have a Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.
Yesterday I accidentally 'killed' csrss.exe. Then, after a bluescreen, my computer restarted and I got the following message:

Windows failed to start. A recent hardware of software change might be the cause. To fix the problem:

1.Insert your Windows installation disc and restart the computer.
2.Choose your language settings, and then click "Next".
    3.Click "Repair your computer."

If you do not have this disc, contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance.

    Status: 0xc000000f

Info: The boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible.

So I tried that, but when I clicked "Repair your computer", I got another error message:

    System Recovery Options

This version of System Recovery Options is not compatible with the version of Windows you are trying to repair. Try using a recovery disc that is compatible with this version of Windows.

Then I opened a command promt by pressing Shift+F10 and typed 'chkdsk /r /f d:'(all the other ones were ok) and got

The type of this file system is NTFS.
Corrupt master file table. Windows will attempt to recover
    master file table from disk.
Windows cannot recover master file table. CHKDSK aborted.
Failed to transfer logged messages to the event log with status 50.

Bootrec /FixMbr and Bootrec /FixBoot didn't do anything either.
    After that I rebooted to a gParted live CD and got a Warning;

    ntfs_mst_post_read_fixup_warn: magic 0x44414142 size:
    1024 usa_ofs:29774 usa_count: 28517: Invalid argument
Record 0 has no FILE Magic (0x44414142)
Failed to load $MFT: Input/output error
Failed to mount '/dev/sda2': Input/output error
NTFS is inconsistent. Run chkdsk /f on Windows then reboot
    it TWICE!
The usage of the /f parameter is very IMPORTANT! No
    modification was
made to NTFS by this software.

Unable to read the contents of this file system!
Because of this some operations may be unavailable.
The cause might be a missing software package.
The following list of software packages is required for ntfs file
    system support: ntfsprogs / ntfs-3g.

After I (unsuccessfully) tried chkdsk /f again I rebooted to some random Linux Mint 13 Live CD.
There I tried gParted again - with pretty much the same result - and then installed testdisk
    (sudo apt-get install testdisk), started it, and selected (Append - "Disk /dev/sda - 1000GB / 931 GiB - ST1000DM003-9YN162" - EFI GTP - Advanced - "2 P MS Data 48992 245762047 245293056" - List)
    where I got
Can't open filesystem. Filesystem seems damaged.
[Rebuild BS]/[Repair MFT] under Boot didn't fix it either.

That's not all I did but I don't remeber everything.

So can I fix this somehow or at least get some of my files back?

Well; one thing; did you remember to backup anything that you know you is important? Because If not you may be out of luck as it sound like some good sized corruption happened. Which leads me to think that the only way to fix this may be a complete clean install of windows.

So there's no way to fix this without a backup.

Your drive is hosed. Dead. Sorry

I hope you had a backup of your files.

If not, you might have lost everything. There are some paid services that can recover very damaged drives, but they usaully are very expensive.

My drive is not hosed, only the MFT and MFT mirror of my boot partition are.
I am currently recovering a few important files with "GetDataBack for NTFS".
And as soon as that's finished I'm going to do a clean reinstall of windows.

Not necessary to run Data Recovery software. Your files will be there waiting to copy out using a boot disk:
Copy & Paste - in Windows Recovery Console
Paragon Rescue Kit Free Edition 11.0 Free CD

Work through the Troubleshooting Steps for Windows 7. The repairs need to be run from boot disks since the onboard repair utility may itself be infected and/or corrupted.

After the necessary boot CD scan for infection, try the Win7 disk (provided) to run Startup Repair which should automate System Restore. If not try it from the list of System Recovery Options.

If this fails you may need to run SFC /SCANNOW Run in Command Prompt at Boot up to 3 separate times to repair corrupted files.

If all steps fail the tutorial will show you how to rescue your files from boot to do a perfect Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7.

Well, it's too late for that now since I've already reinstalled Windows.
How would you even recover a broken/bad MFT if the MFT mirror is in no better state?

I didn't see where you booted into System Recovery Options on the disk since onboard WinRe can be corrupted, too.

From the disk you might be able to repair it using Startup Repair, which should automate System Restore, or if not run it manually from Options list.

Perhaps if MFT is truly corrupt then it is not reparable but I would want to know that the known modern Win7 fixes (which do not include gParted) had been run satisfactorily, that's all, to reconfirm what the Linux tool told you.

I've tried to run Windows Recovery from the installation disk and a recovery disk that I created with my notebook and both gave me the error
This version of System Recovery Options is not compatible with the version of Windows you are trying to repair. Try using a recovery disc that is compatible with this version of Windows.
Btw TestDisk is also available for Windows.

What is Windows Recovery? Are you booting into System Recovery Options on the disk, or are you trying to recover using a Win7 image?

Where did you get this disk? Try another for your licensed version from Step 6 of Troubleshooting Windows 7 Failure to Start .
