    Maybe a dumb question

No 1: Can somebody tell me if there is a simple formula to calculate how many minutes or hours a DVD disc is good for.
For example, can I fit a half hour TV show onto a 700MB disc?

No 2: Is it an easy matter to increase the amount of data I can send on e-mail. I certainly receive some long Videos clips and stuff, but can not send 1 minute of vision from my Dash Camera.

I can answer your first question. I have a 2 hour DVD that just about filled up a 4.7 GB DVD. I don't think there is any hard and fast answer though. My DVD is black and white. I believe if it were color, it would take up more room. Could be wrong about that.

Thanks for the quick reply, I have about an hour and 40 minutes of a TV show and some 4.7 GB discs, so I'll give it a go.

Hi your 2nd question is to use a free file sharing site such as Skydrive soon to be renamed to OneDrive,
There are many free sites which provide free storage,
All you need for OneDrive is a Microsoft email address/ Hotmail.com/ outllook.com and your set to receive 7 gig's of free storage,
    Cheers.

Thanks mate, My address is @bigpond.com, which is Telstra in Australia. Is that good enough for me to get into Skydrive?, or will I need to get a Microsoft or Hotmail address as well?

Hi no you will need a Microsoft i.d. or email address which they are free as well,
    https://mail.live.com/
The above link should take you to the basic login where you can make an account with the existing content,
Once you make an account enter your email address and Skydrive will be listed on the top left,
It will show Outlook.com and a down arrow next to it "V" click on it and Skydrive will appear on the list,
    Cheers.

There are other alternatives like Dropbox and Google Drive. You can use Google Drive if you already have a google account. If not, you can make a new account. Or you can make a Dropbox account. Google Drive has recently increased their maximum to 15gb for free while dropbox has 2gb for free. On dropbox, you can make referrals to your friends and family and you wiil get 500mb extra for free per person. You can go up to 18gb with this method. I have both and if you want the max storage, you might want to get all of them. But I think you should only install the program for one of them.

But don't use Google Drive if you are worried about the government spying on you.

Skydrive there is nothing to download and install you can use it without any additional programs other than windows,
There is a Skydrive desktop you can download but it not at all mandatory,
    Cheers.
