    Customizing Windows 7 Classic Theme

I'm trying to create a smooth Windows Classic theme.

The highlights and shadows around the theme are irritating me and I would like to get rid of them.

In the picture below I highlighted what I'm talking about.

Does anyone know how to get rid of these?

I have attempted to locate the setting in Window Color and Appearance, but have been unsuccessful.

A quick reply as I might not be able to get into this deeper. It is possible to do so, there is a variable for the global highlight color, which is stored in the theme file (%SYSTEMDRIVE%\Windows\Resources\Ease of Access Themes\classic.theme). I am looking at things right now, I'll post again if it's working.
edit: the theme system is more sophisticated than I thought, see the next post (also, properties not listed in the theme file fall back to their standards)

I've created a dummy theme for you, which you can modify to your liking.
    (copy it to %WINDIR%\Resources\Themes)

    classic_mod.zip

You can edit the file with any text editor (This is not a Notepad++ advert!).
    Source, see for further modifications.
