    Which version?

Currently im running Vista x64 ultimate and now sine the release of 7 im looking to change but im a little unsure which version to change to now since the add the confusion of professional

I am no professional I.T body, however i do like to have the best of the best hence the reason i have vista ultimate

So my plan was to get 7 x64 ultimate but now i see professional and according to the Microsoft website there is only 2 minor differences, those being BitLocker and 35 languages

Now i only speak 1 language (English) and im not very good at that so i suppose i don't need the 35 languages and i never used Bitlocker in vista so would you say i would be better off going for the cheaper option of Professional or is there more of a difference than Microsoft is letting on?

Is only confused dot com could help me chose which version is rite for me lol

You will probably do just fine with Professional. The beta and RC of Windows 7 were both of the Ultimate edition, but I changed mine to the Professional RTM a few days ago, and I have yet to notice any difference. Ultimate is really just for individuals that need Enterprise-level features, like the extra languages.

The biggest difference for you would be that you can't perform an "upgrade" installation from Vista Ultimate to 7 Professional, but then it's recommended to perform a clean install anyway, so....

    Thanks BCXtreme
    I
would have no need for the 35 languages, I think you have answered my question fully and will be most likely be choosing Professional over Ultimate
    .
I would always choose a full clean install over an upgrade, most especially with the poor or what i feel a poor condition my current install of vista is

Thank you for your input and i hope this helps other to choose which edition is best for them
While im at it ill also post you all a link to reduced price versions of 7 and vista
