    Download to desktop

On both firefox and IE 11 when I try to change download location from "downloads" to desktop, the desktop is missing for options. Does not show at all.

You should be able to navigate to C:\Users\YOUR USER NAME\Desktop from the Navigation pane on the left.

Hi do you see favorites ?
You can post a screen shot of the options you do see,
There's a link above my signature picture to show you how,
    If Internet explorer is Open,
Use Ctrl+J to open the View Downloads which at that point you can follow the link to go to where the download went and then drag it to your desktop,
Or after using Ctrl+J you can click on Options on the bottom left and direct files to a specific folder like the desktop,
Although the desktop is not a great place to have downloads go unless it's specified for a scanner of some sort to check for infection by a security professional as part of the instructions,
But you really haven't given any examples of any file types your downloading ?
    Cheers.

In your screenshot, click chuck at the top, and then desktop.

OR: local disk c-click users-click your username-click desktop

I may not be clear. When I try to select the option to download to desktop..the option is not available. This is the same for IE or firefox. I cannot get the desktop option to show up. On my wifes side of the computer it is ok. Driving me crazy. I want to save downloads to desktop. When I try to change the download location desktop is not anywhere.

The Navigation pane is scrolled down to far,
The top listing your showing is Documents if you drag the slider Up Favorites will be listed at the top,
Desktop is Inside the Favorites folder,
    Cheers.
