    Windows 7 on Macbook Pro


    Are there any major downsides to running Windows 7 as the primary OS on a Macbook Pro? I dig the look of them but not so much the OS.

    I can't stand OSX but I have always been drawn to the physical design of the Macbooks.

    I would be using it primarily for scripting in Power Shell and/or Python but I am wondering if there would be any platform/hardware limitations being that it is intended to run OSX as the primary OS.

    Aside from the up-front cost and lower price/performance ratio would I face any major problems doing System Administration work on it?

    Any help is appreciated.

    Lysdexik, I do not believe that the system bios on the MacBook pro will allow you to boot and install windows 7 on your mac.

    Different type of bios and not compatible. There are programs that will allow you to install windows 7 on your existing mac disk
    and then when it boots, come up in the windows 7 option. Parallels is one that comes to mind.

    I run Windows 8.1 as my default OS on my macbook air, just install the Windows via bootcamp and it's just like a nomal laptop with better hardware
