Isn't this legal too since it is what Microsoft uses for OS distribution and they are allowing us to download? If it is illegal, it should be off the forum by now.
I got it confused with heidoc.

This is a legitimate source. You can get all of the downloads you want. If you don't have a Product Key to input, that is when the problem occurs.

My Digital Life is frowned on for other reasons. The link given in the tutorial linked by thrashzone is preferred.

Digital River is Microsoft's service provider for e-commerce. Basically every product that Microsoft sells in their online stores worldwide is delivered via the Digital River servers. You'll find the full list of all available Windows 7 disk images here, in many alnguages, both with and without SP1 integrated, both 32 and 64 bit versions.

    Important Note 30 January 2014
After clearing their servers in January 2014, most images were not accessible for a few days. It seems though that all downloads on all servers have come back by now.

Whereas there are already a lot of websites providing download links to Windows 7 RTM DVD ISO images, the links for the updated versions that have an integrated Service Pack 1 are brand new. Using a scraping script to browse the files on the Digital River servers, we came across these new ISO images more or less by a lucky guess. The advantage of the new images is an up to date Windows installation right after the initial setup, without the need to download and install hundreds of updates afterwards. If you just need the downloads, you can scroll down. If you need further information, please read on here.

Microsoft released updated media refresh images in May 2011. They have the post SP1 hotfix KB2534111 integrated as well. The original versions of the SP1 integrated DVDs don't allow any non ASCII characters when assigning the computer name, which has been fixed with this update.

Are these illegal, cracked or pirated downloads?
Since this is an official download channel, you can be sure to receive setup files that are virus-free, secure, legitimate and untouched. Downloading the files from Digital River is absolutely legal and completely free of charge. Without a legally obtained product key however, any Windows 7 installation will only run for 30 days. Afterwards, it needs to be activated, or the evaluation timer be reset.

For more information about Digital River, please refer to this press release.
That being said, I agree with kado897, that the tutorial is the correct place to go for the ISOs.

There used to be a reference on the Dell forums, but that was taken down (by Dell I presume). Heidoc controls theri own site, so the links should remain available. But.... should hiedoc take them down or disappear, the tutorial will provide a new link.
